Biometric Fingerprint System to be implemented in Foreign Workers' Medical Examination by October 2017

FOMEMA: Biometric fingerprint identification system will be used in foreign workers’ medical examination, where it will be placed at all FOMEMA panel clinics and FOMEMA X-ray centres nationwide to capture the identification of the foreign workers’ and to verify with the confirmation received from myIMMS via online transmission before the foreign workers’ medical screening can be continued.

Kuala Lumpur - FOMEMA Sdn. Bhd., Foreign Workers’ Medical Examination Monitoring Agency, in collaboration with HeiTech Padu Berhad, the government-appointed Malaysian Immigration System (myIMMS) operating company, held soft launch of Biometric system for foreign workers’ medical screening at one of FOMEMA panel clinics, Klinik Ajwa in Shah Alam, Selangor.

The soft launch event was inaugurated by Y. Bhg. Dato’ Sri Hj Mustafar Bin Hj Ali, Director General of the Immigration Department of Malaysia. The soft launch also attended by Y.Bhg. Dato’ Mohd Hatar Bin Ismail, President / Chief Executive Officer of FOMEMA Sdn. Bhd, YBhg. Dato’ Sri Hilmey Mohd Taib, Chairman of HeiTech Padu Berhad and also representatives from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA), Ministry of Health (MOH), Public Private Partnership Unit (UKAS) of the Prime Minister’s Department.

The launching event in the morning started with the main agenda of the event, which is an integration process between myIMMs and FOMEMA Information Technology System (NIOS), a brief introduction and demonstration of how the Biometric fingerprint identification reader will be used, where it will be located at all FOMEMA panel clinics and FOMEMA X-ray centres nationwide to capture the identification of the foreign workers’ and to verify the identity by myIMMS via online before the screening of foreign workers’ medical examination can be proceed.

Dato’ Sri Hj Mustafar Bin Hj Ali said at the soft launch event, “The main purpose of the soft launch was to facilitate the ministries and the government departments that involved indirectly with the intake of foreign workers as well as the media members on the changes and improvements introduced by the Government and FOMEMA, which the use of biometrics for the purpose of verifying the identity of every foreign worker who undergoes FOMEMA medical examination. This improvement in foreign workers’ medical examination system is seen to be in line with the high technology that we have today, where it will facilitate the identification process of the foreign workers’ more accurately.  Other than verification using the original passport during the process, after the fingerprint of the foreign worker’s captured by the system reader, it will be sent to myIMMS via online transmission to obtain confirmation of the identity of foreign workers.”

He added, “Among the advantages of using the biometric fingerprint identification system is that it will improve the accuracy of foreign workers’ medical examination process while at the same time reducing any potential errors that might occur during the identification process as compared to manual verification, currently only using the foreign workers’ original passports.”

 “This Biometric fingerprint is expected to be implemented in the foreign workers’ medical examination system by October 2017. Currently, HeiTech Padu Berhad in collaboration with FOMEMA is in the process of integrating the system and installing biometric reader at FOMEMA panel clinics.. Hopefully, with the press conference today will give some brief ideas about the system that will be implemented within less than two months to the foreign workers’ agents and employers.” Dato’ Sri Hj Mustafar Bin Hj Ali ends the conversation at the soft launch event.


Sepasang Baju Raya brings thousands Happiness for Orphans from Pertubuhan Kebajikan Baitul Kasih

Kuala Lumpur, 10 June 2017 – In the excitement for Muslims in making preparations to celebrate Hari Raya Aidil Fitri approaching soon, the orphans from Pertubuhan Baitul Kasih Wilayah Persekutuan & Selangor had not been forgotten to equally feel and experience the excitement of preparing Hari Raya celebration as any other children.

FOMEMA Sdn. Bhd. and 17 employees today share the joy together with 35 orphans from Pertubuhan Baitul Kasih buying Baju Raya through its Ramadhan CSR Programme with a theme set #SepasangBajuRayaMembawaSeribuMakna.”

The excitement can be seen from the faces of these children when they were given the opportunity to go out and buy Baju Raya according to their own likings this year just like any other children. It is not something usual for orphans at Baitul Kasih to have the opportunity to choose and by new Baju Raya every time Hari Raya comes. On this day, each one orphans from Baitul Kasih are given the opportunity to choose a pair of baju melayu or baju kurung, Songkok, Sampin and a matching shoes to be worn on Hari Raya later.

YM Tengku Abu Bakar Ahmad Bin Tengku Abdullah FOMEMA Board Member who were present at the programme said, “Sepasang Baju Raya FOMEMA Programme is initiated in conjunction with Ramadhan, a month full of blessings where Muslims are encouraged to do good deeds and charity for those in need. Starting this year, FOMEMA Ramadhan CSR will be held as yearly programme with the selected different orphanage homes to be participated each year”.
“Praise to Allah S.W.T, with positive collaboration received from Customer Relations Department Mydin Mall, the preparation and arrangement of FOMEMA Baju Raya programme run smoothly for the first year. We hope that this Ramadhan initiative will expand with more participation of orphanage homes in the future. Although for all of us, it may be just a small thing to have a pair of baju raya, but it could be very privilege for these children who are less fortunate and have lost their loved ones. It is hoped, with FOMEMA contributions can put smile on their faces and Hari Raya celebration this year will be more meaningful for these orphans.” YM Tengku Abu Bakar Ahmad ends the conversation at the FOMEMA Baju Raya Programme.
