Kuala Lumpur – Due to the increase in the number of dengue cases reported in the news recently, more than 150 people participated a massive gotong-royong programme organised by FOMEMA Sdn. Bhd. (Foreign Workers’ Medical Examination Monitoring Agency) in collaboration with Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL) Cawangan Desa Pandan and Rukun Tetangga (RT) Kampung Pandan in Kampung Pandan areas. The collaborative CSR programme activity is attended Yang Amat Mulia Tengku Arif Bendahara Pahang, Tengku Tan Sri Abdullah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Sir Abu Bakar, Chairman of Unitab Medic Sdn. Bhd., the shareholder of FOMEMA, Yang Berbahagia Datuk Affendi Zahari Timbalan Ketua Bahagian UMNO Titiwangsa, Dato’ Mohd Hatar Bin Ismail, President/Chief Executive Officer Unitab Medic Sdn. Bhd., Ketua & AJK UMNO Bahagian Titiwangsa and Ketua Pergerakan Wanita UMNO Bahagian Titiwangsa.
This supportive effort taken is in line with the Government’s call and Campaign recently launched by the Ministry of Health Malaysia which aimed to combat dengue especially during this heavy rainfall season in Kuala Lumpur. The gotong-royong collaboration between FOMEMA, DBKL and Rukun Tetangga (RT) community received a tremendous support and participation from the employees of FOMEMA / Unitab Medic Sdn. Bhd., the business society and the public around Kampung Pandan areas.
Adding to that President / Chief Executive Officer of Unitab Medic Sdn. Bhd. Dato’ Mohd Hatar bin Ismail says “Gotong-royong spirit is a culture in Malaysia that brings people together to make the impossible possible, and we as a responsible society needs to play active role to promote and inculcate the culture particularly to our young generation today. CSR programme has always been a positive platform for FOMEMA in giving back to the society and fulfilling our Corporate Social Responsibility. Through this programme, we hope to create more public’s awareness on the threat to the diseases and to promote healthy living lifestyle and clean environment to the community. We are very honoured and grateful with the support received from DBKL in providing us with enough equipment and Rukun Tetangga (RT) community at today’s programme, thus we are looking forward to have more collaboration of CSR programmes with any other organisation and local authorities in the future.”
The gotong-royong programme on Saturday started with an early fogging by Jabatan Kesihatan dan Alam Sekitar DBKL to prevent any infection of adult mosquitoes when their habitats are disturbed during the gotong-royong. Among other things, the event takes place at the pedestrian sidewalk cleaning, unclogging the drains and removing dead trees that can become a home for pests and help spread disease.

Chairman Yang Amat Mulia Tengku Arif Bendahara Pahang Tengku Tan Sri Abdullah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Abu Bakar presenting duit raya to children from Madrasah Tahfiz Syazwan Lil Banat. FOMEMA Sdn. Bhd. held a 'Ramadhan Kareem' the yearly event to share the blessings of Ramadhan with orphans and tahfiz students. It was attended by more than 300 guests at Mandarin Oriental Hotel Kuala Lumpur. Also present at the Majlis berbuka puasa was Unitab Medic Sdn. Bhd, President/Chief Executive Officer Dato' Mohd Hatar Bin Ismail in celebrating all the staff.
