Biometric Fingerprint System to be implemented in Foreign Workers' Medical Examination by October 2017

FOMEMA: Biometric fingerprint identification system will be used in foreign workers’ medical examination, where it will be placed at all FOMEMA panel clinics and FOMEMA X-ray centres nationwide to capture the identification of the foreign workers’ and to verify with the confirmation received from myIMMS via online transmission before the foreign workers’ medical screening can be continued.
Kuala Lumpur - FOMEMA Sdn. Bhd., Foreign Workers’ Medical Examination Monitoring Agency, in collaboration with HeiTech Padu Berhad, the government-appointed Malaysian Immigration System (myIMMS) operating company, held soft launch of Biometric system for foreign workers’ medical screening at one of FOMEMA panel clinics, Klinik Ajwa in Shah Alam, Selangor.
The soft launch event was inaugurated by Y. Bhg. Dato’ Sri Hj Mustafar Bin Hj Ali, Director General of the Immigration Department of Malaysia. The soft launch also attended by Y.Bhg. Dato’ Mohd Hatar Bin Ismail, President / Chief Executive Officer of FOMEMA Sdn. Bhd, YBhg. Dato’ Sri Hilmey Mohd Taib, Chairman of HeiTech Padu Berhad and also representatives from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA), Ministry of Health (MOH), Public Private Partnership Unit (UKAS) of the Prime Minister’s Department.
The launching event in the morning started with the main agenda of the event, which is an integration process between myIMMs and FOMEMA Information Technology System (NIOS), a brief introduction and demonstration of how the Biometric fingerprint identification reader will be used, where it will be located at all FOMEMA panel clinics and FOMEMA X-ray centres nationwide to capture the identification of the foreign workers’ and to verify the identity by myIMMS via online before the screening of foreign workers’ medical examination can be proceed.
Dato’ Sri Hj Mustafar Bin Hj Ali said at the soft launch event, “The main purpose of the soft launch was to facilitate the ministries and the government departments that involved indirectly with the intake of foreign workers as well as the media members on the changes and improvements introduced by the Government and FOMEMA, which the use of biometrics for the purpose of verifying the identity of every foreign worker who undergoes FOMEMA medical examination. This improvement in foreign workers’ medical examination system is seen to be in line with the high technology that we have today, where it will facilitate the identification process of the foreign workers’ more accurately. Other than verification using the original passport during the process, after the fingerprint of the foreign worker’s captured by the system reader, it will be sent to myIMMS via online transmission to obtain confirmation of the identity of foreign workers.”
He added, “Among the advantages of using the biometric fingerprint identification system is that it will improve the accuracy of foreign workers’ medical examination process while at the same time reducing any potential errors that might occur during the identification process as compared to manual verification, currently only using the foreign workers’ original passports.”
“This Biometric fingerprint is expected to be implemented in the foreign workers’ medical examination system by October 2017. Currently, HeiTech Padu Berhad in collaboration with FOMEMA is in the process of integrating the system and installing biometric reader at FOMEMA panel clinics.. Hopefully, with the press conference today will give some brief ideas about the system that will be implemented within less than two months to the foreign workers’ agents and employers.” Dato’ Sri Hj Mustafar Bin Hj Ali ends the conversation at the soft launch event.

Kuala Lumpur, 10 June 2017 – In the excitement for Muslims in making preparations to celebrate Hari Raya Aidil Fitri approaching soon, the orphans from Pertubuhan Baitul Kasih Wilayah Persekutuan & Selangor had not been forgotten to equally feel and experience the excitement of preparing Hari Raya celebration as any other children.
FOMEMA Sdn. Bhd. and 17 employees today share the joy together with 35 orphans from Pertubuhan Baitul Kasih buying Baju Raya through its Ramadhan CSR Programme with a theme set #SepasangBajuRayaMembawaSeribuMakna.”
The excitement can be seen from the faces of these children when they were given the opportunity to go out and buy Baju Raya according to their own likings this year just like any other children. It is not something usual for orphans at Baitul Kasih to have the opportunity to choose and by new Baju Raya every time Hari Raya comes. On this day, each one orphans from Baitul Kasih are given the opportunity to choose a pair of baju melayu or baju kurung, Songkok, Sampin and a matching shoes to be worn on Hari Raya later.
YM Tengku Abu Bakar Ahmad Bin Tengku Abdullah FOMEMA Board Member who were present at the programme said, “Sepasang Baju Raya FOMEMA Programme is initiated in conjunction with Ramadhan, a month full of blessings where Muslims are encouraged to do good deeds and charity for those in need. Starting this year, FOMEMA Ramadhan CSR will be held as yearly programme with the selected different orphanage homes to be participated each year”.

Kuala Lumpur, 09 June 2017 – In celebrating the spirit of blessed month Ramadhan, FOMEMA celebrates two orphanage homes by hosting Majlis Iftar Kasih Ramadhan through its annual Ramadhan CSR Programme on the 14 days of Muslims observing Ramadhan. To have something different this Ramadhan, the company invited two orphanage homes from Rumah Amal Asnaf Al Barakh and Rahoma Darul Fakir.
The annual Ramadhan CSR Programme that graced by Yang Amat Mulia Tengku Arif Bendahara Pahang, Tengku Tan Sri Abdullah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Sir Abu Bakar, Chairman of FOMEMA Sdn. Bhd were attended by 89 orphans, VIP guests, corporate clients and employees of FOMEMA Sdn. Bhd.
The blessed ceremony was held at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Kuala Lumpur began with the opening speech by Dato’ Mohd Hatar Bin Ismail the President / Chief Executive Officer FOMEMA Sdn. Bhd. and giving ‘Duit Raya’ ceremony to the orphans by Yang Amat Mulia Tengku Arif Bendahara Pahang. The programme then continued with all the guests breaking fast and performing Maghrib, Isyak and Terawikh prayers.

Kuala Lumpur – In supporting ongoing efforts #jomdermadarah by National Blood Centre Malaysia, FOMEMA (Foreign Workers Medical Examination Monitoring Agency) recently organised The Blood Drive Campaign 2017. The third annual FOMEMA Corporate Social Responsibility Programme (CSR) is a joint collaboration with the National Blood Centre were also attended by the President / Chief Executive Officer of FOMEMA Sdn. Bhd., Y.Bhg. Dato’ Mohd Hatar Bin Ismail.
FOMEMA Blood Drive campaign for 2017 is the first time to be held here at FOMEMA’s Corporate Office, The Icon @ Jalan Tun Razak from 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. with targeted collection of 100 units of blood bags. Furthermore, selection of The Icon @ Tun Razak as the location due to its close proximity with FOMEMA’s Corporate Office as its main focus is to reach wider campaign announcements to FOMEMA’s staff, staff from other companies in The Icon Tower and the public around, who wish to donate blood and seize the opportunities to participates, in helping the National Blood Centre to increase the supply of blood in the needs of patients in Malaysia.
Dato’ Mohd Hatar Bin Ismail added “The campaign is a part of our continued effort of Corporate Social Responsibility Programme (CSR) in raising awareness of the public to donate blood, as well as their sensitivity to help those in need of adequate blood supply especially during festive seasons as the accident rates are higher during that period and most hospitals are in dire need for blood. In addition, the campaign aims to provides information on benefits and methods of blood donation while encourage the public towards a healthy living practices.
Since the first year of inception FOMEMA Blood Drive Campaign in 2014, it had successfully collected 70 units of blood bag. Meanwhile in 2016, it managed to contribute 100 units of blood bag to the National Blood Centre. For the year of 2017, FOMEMA Blood Drive Campaign that were held at The Icon @ Tun Razak is well welcomed by the employees and tenants of the building. One of FOMEMA aims for this continuos effort is for more blood donation to be held in future and at the same time to foster a culture of blood donation among Malaysians.

FOMEMA: It’s now hassle-free to register and pay Foreign Workers’ Medical Examination Online at anytime from anywhere.
Kuala Lumpur – FOMEMA is introducing Employers’ Web Portal Online to facilitate employers to register and pay registration fee of Foreign Workers’ Medical Examination via online starting 15th November 2016.
Addressing the media, Dato’ Mohd Hatar Bin Ismail, President / Chief Executive Officer Unitab Medic Sdn. Bhd. (FOMEMA) said, “A demonstration was held on 11th November on how the Web Portal working to a few of FOMEMA customers here at FOMEMA branch Kuala Lumpur. FOMEMA Employers’ Online Web Portal enables the customers with an online access to register, renew and to make secure online payments for foreign workers’ medical examination, saving time and cost for both the company and the customer.”
“FOMEMA has always been working to enhance its customer service to the next level. It is not mainly about doing business, but to ensure the customers are happy and satisfied at the end of the day. The only thing the customers need to do is to first create their employer account, register their foreign workers and pay FOMEMA registration fees via Financial Process Exchange (FPX) payment channel for 15 participated banks.”
“This new system allows the customers carry out all their foreign workers’ medical examination registration processes at the touch of a fingertip, from the comforts of their office or home. With only an internet connection, scanner to scan the relevant documents, the registration processes that currently take place at FOMEMA branches is no longer necessary. Once the employer account registration has been processed, the status of the registration (successful or unsuccessful) will be notified via email within 2 working days of registration approval process completed. The confirmation of registration email will be sent to the customer’s email accordingly.” Added Dato’ Mohd Hatar Bin Ismail.
Adding to that, the new Web Portal will also allow the customers to experience a greater convenience where they will be able to view the registration and payment history by registering their foreign workers’ online using the new Web Portal. Meanwhile, the current registration process at FOMEMA branches will still be operating as usual to accommodate manual walk-in registration. Moreover, we have also added on the frequently-asked-questions (FAQ) section in the portal to provide clear guidance from the first step of registration of Employer Account, the Registration of Foreign Workers’ Medical Examination and the payment instruction.
“We hope that by offering online registration and payment will increase the customers’ convenience and satisfaction in dealing with FOMEMA. Hopefully the new Web Portal works very well and we immensely increase efficiency while at the same time reducing any potential errors that might occur.” said President / Chief Executive Officer of Unitab Medic Sdn. KUALA LUMPUR – As part of its ongoing exercise to accommodate its customers with multiple mode of payment channels for the purpose of registering their foreign workers, FOMEMA together with Pos Malaysia had, on 11th March 2016, jointly announced their collaboration in providing the online payment facility to FOMEMA customers to make payment for medical examination of their foreign workers via online. However, the President / Chief Executive Officer Unitab Medic Sdn. Bhd., Dato’ Mohd Hatar Bin Ismail says “With deep regret we would like to inform our customers that, with effect from 1st December 2016, Pos Online facility for the payment of registration fee for FOMEMA medical examination shall be discontinued due to lower in response of the use of Pos Online payment by the employers or agents.”
Nonetheless, FOMEMA registration fees can still be made via alternative methods of payment such as Bank Draft (Banker’s Cheque), Money Order and CIMB Clicks, according to Dato’ Mohd Hatar Bin Ismail.
Dato’ Mohd Hatar Ismail added that, with effect from 15th November 2016, the employers can opt to register their foreign workers and make the necessary payment online for the medical examination via Employers Portal at https://portal.fomema.my

(FOMEMA) has organised a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), FOMEMA Blood Donation Campaign 2016. In addition to helping the National Blood Centre Malaysia increases blood supply, it is also as a way of giving back to the community. The programme has managed to attaract more than 100 donors, including staff Unitab Medic Sdn. Bhd. (FOMEMA) and the public at the Menara Takaful Malaysia.

Kuala Lumpur – On 12 Ramadhan 1437H, in conjunction with this blessed month of Ramadhan, by Unitab Medic Sdn. Bhd. (FOMEMA) has celebrated it in a humble way by hosting Majlis Berbuka Puasa Ramadhan Mubarak together with 60 orphans and tahfiz pupils of Rumah Kasih Nurul Hasanah.
The annual Majlis Berbuka Puasa that was held since 2013 by the company was also graced by Yang Amat Mulia Tengku Arif Bendahara Pahang, Tengku Tan Sri Abdullah Ibni Sultan Sir Abu Bakar, Chairman Unitab Medic Sdn. Bentong, Pahang – As a part of its Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) Programme for 2016, Unitab Medic Sdn. Bhd. (FOMEMA) had successfully carried out ‘Program Santai Bersama Masyarakat Orang Asli Bentong” in Kampung Sg. Dua Ulu, Karak Pahang.
The programme has been graced by Chairman of Unitab Medic Sdn. Bhd., Y.A.M Tengku Tan Sri Abdullah Ibni Almarhum Sir Sultan Abu Bakar as part of the company’s CSR initiatives in reaching out to the less fortunate Orang Asli families. The programme was succesfully carried out in collaboration between Unitab Medic Sdn. Bhd., (FOMEMA), Pertubuhan Jaringan Cemerlang Masyarakat Bersatu Bentong and involvement of several Government agencies in Bentong District.
After the opening ceremony in the morning, the programme continued with Ziarah Kasih programme, where the contribution of financial aid was handed by Y.A.M Tengku Abdullah to more than 1,500 Orang Asli. He was accompanied by Dato’ Mohd Hatar bin Ismail, President / Chief Executive Officer Unitab Medic Sdn. Bhd. and Dato’ Jasvir Singh A/L Ram Singh, Chairman Pertubuhan Jaringan Cemerlang Masyarakat Bersatu Bentong. Financial aid to Sekolah Rendah Kebangsaan Sg. Dua Ulu and top 10 Best Orang Asli Students was also given by Y.A.M Tengku Abdullah at the programme. During Ziarah Kasih programme, used clothes that collected by Unitab Medic’s (FOMEMA) staff and toiletries amenities were also donated to Orang Asli families.
The health screening bootcamp which began at 10.00 a.m. was a collaborative effort by FOMEMA Medical team headed by Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Dr. Kreeson Vengadeson, employees of Unitab Medic (FOMEMA) and also a group of doctors from Klinik Bergerak 1Malaysia Orang Asli and Klinik Bergerak Orang Asli Daerah Bentong. Among the health tests conducted at the bootcamp includes measuring BMI (Body Mass Index), blood pressure and glucose level for the children and the elderly. Basic screening were selected based on their health conditions that were most likely to suffer from.
The programme which was held at Padang Sekolah Rendah Kebangsaan Sg. Dua Ulu, Karak Pahang attended by more than 1,500 Orang Asli consisting of three majority ethnic of Orang Asli community from Mukim Pelangai, Mukim Sabai and Mukim Bentong. Among the Orang Asli who attended are from Kg. Sg. Dua Ulu, Kg. Sg. Dula Olak, Kg. Sg. Merjok, Kg. Sg. Gabong, Kg. Sg. Lebak, Kg. Sg. Miak, Kg. Sg. Bot, Kg. Sg. Gapoi, Kg. Aji Kunur, Kg. Chinta Manis, Kg. Ulu Semei, Kg. Hulu Pareh and Kg. Hulu Chemperoh were gathered to participate in several Sukan Rakyat activities organised such as competition in Orang Asli traditional blowpipe (menyumpit), Sepak Raga Bulat, Upih Pinang game and Terompah Gergasi. The Sukan Rakyat was also participated by the children, the local youth, employees from Unitab Medic Sdn. Bhd. (FOMEMA) and representatives from Government agencies.
“We shall continue to maintain the initiative of our CSR programme, which first began in 2013 and for the third time, in 2016 we are able to expand our programme on a larger scale together with Orang Asli community in Bentong District, where the statistics Department of Malaysia has classified 35.2% of the Orang Asli population as being ’hardcore poor’. Most important is that, this initiative is taken by Unitab Medic (FOMEMA) to support the efforts by Government of Malaysia in providing better access to quality health services for Orang Asli community, many of whom still live in the interior areas”.
“We intend to educate them about the diseases at risk and the preventive measures should they take to lead a healthy lifestyle for their generation in the future. This is the reason why we organise this programme, first to provide health services and to educate this community about a healthy lifestyle and proper hygiene. Second, to show that we care about them and we are eager to help them towards a better life in line with the development of our country”, said Dato’ Mohd Hatar Bin Ismail.
He added “As we are operating in the health services industry, our objective is to bring a paradigm shift and a change in Orang Asli communities as well as to create awareness about the importance of maintaining and also improving their health conditions. We would like to assist the Orang Asli community by providing the health screening and consultation, so that they can concentrate on building a healthy life for their families,” says Dato’ Mohd Hatar Bin Ismail.
“We hope that the outreach community programme held today brought some cheers to the Orang Asli and community here in Kampung Sg. Dua Ulu and hopefully the level of healthcare awareness among them will increase from time to time. This is in addition to the payment methods using Banker’s Cheque / Bank Draft and Money Order at Post Offices and CIMB Clicks.
Dato’ Mohd Hatar Bin Ismail, President / Chief Executive Officer, Unitab Medic Sdn. Bhd. (FOMEMA) said, “We always believe that customers’ satisfaction and convenience will give positive results to the business and as such, FOMEMA is providing the customers more payment options by introducing payments of fees for foreign workers’ medical examination via Pos Online, a portal hosted by Pos Malaysia at www.posonline.com.my available 24 hours a day, seven (7) days a week,” he told the media recently.
“Moreover, it is our business responsibility to improve efficiency by accommodating to our customers’ needs for convenience and faster services at the comfort of their homes and offices, just like online shopping nowadays,” he added.

“Pos Online customers will get to experience an improved data accuracy and automated receipt and payment processing to manage and streamline dispute with Pos Malaysia and FOMEMA. In addition, electronic payment system makes it easier for employers to track and monitor data to ensure adherence to complex compliance regulations and all business rules,” he added.
“We hope that by offering multiple payment methods will increase customers’ satisfaction by improving customer experience with FOMEMA.
